Part 2 - Perspective

CHANGE THE WAY WE LOOK AT THINGS, THE WAY WE LOOK AT THINGS WILL CHANGE is the message from this Art design.
Have you heard of this new psychology term called Neuroplasticity? As this article from Psychology today says:
Finding time to finish this art collection, which I feel deeply called to do, has been especially challenging since becoming a mom of two.
Between preparing dinner every night, doing laundry, being a mom and wife, managing our businesses, keeping up with the house, caring for our dog, and focusing on my own self-care, the list goes on—as I’m sure it does for so many of us!
One way I’ve reframed this from being hard on myself and this overwhelming feeling is by reminding myself that the goal is simply to be a little bit better than yesterday, I can let go of perfection and just set out my intention to do the best I can right here and now.
It’s been an up-and-down battle, some days feeling easier than others. Some days I feel productive and motivated, while other days are tougher. But I know what I need to do to keep improving, and I continue to get better.
As James Clear says in *Atomic Habits*, "Even if we can just improve by 1%, it’s better than going backward."
On tough days, I give myself grace to get back up but I keep moving forward the next day.
When it comes to my career dreams as an artist, a major challenge has been overcoming the fear and doubt that often creeps in when I try to create and share my art.
This has kept me from focusing on the art that truly brings me joy, leading me to overthink and go in circles. But once I push through the fear, I feel aligned back with my purpose and I can feel and see the changes in not just my thoughts but my every day life and productivity.
I work every single day to shift my perspective from seeing myself through the lens of fear and doubt to embracing the capable. I keep going, doing what feels right for me and my family, who depend on me.
I’ve learned that when I choose wise inner thoughts over negativity, my inner and outer world, along with the lives of those closest to me, improves. No matter how long it takes, I come back to my work when life allows. I make time for the things that fill my heart and make me who I am.
Because when we change the way we look at things, the way we look at things will change.
I’ve set out to focus on a collection of digital art that feels purposeful, not just for me but for anyone who needs a reminder of these life truths that help us shift our thinking and make life a little easier and more joyful and keep going for what we want.
